The Veterans Memorial Golf Club Board was put together to oversee the success of the course and move the course in the right direction.
Born and raised in Clear Lake Mike graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2005 after winning 2 Golf State Titles in 2004 and 2005, then headed to Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa on a golf scholarship. In his time at Indian Hills he helped his team to top 5 finishes at Nationals, and won 4 individual titles, including the Iowa State Match Play Championship. After graduating from Indian Hills in 2007 he then transferred to the University of Alabama-Birmingham on another golf scholarship. While at UAB he won the Iowa State Amateur Championship, a 2008 C-USA team title and advanced his team to the 2008 Division 1 NCAA Championships. He graduated with a degree in Business Management in 2010 from UAB. After College he decided to turn Professional and bounced around playing golf on professional mini tours in Arizona and the Midwest. He worked at Moon Valley Country Club and North Iowa Golf while playing professional golf. After accepting the Director of Golf position at VMGC in the Winter of 2014, he started a Junior Golf Program and helped VMGC earn the award as Iowa’s 2014 9-Hole Course of the Year.
Jeremy is a graduate of Iowa State University majoring in Horticulture. Jeremy has 20 plus years of experience in maintaining golf courses, and will be entering his 5th season as Superintendent at Veterans Memorial Golf Club. This past season he helped Veterans Memorial Golf Club win the award of 2014 9-Hole Course of the Year in Iowa, keeping the course in the best shape it's been in years.
The vision of the Foundation is to return the All-Veterans Golf Course to its past state as one of the premiere, historical 9 hole Golf Courses in Iowa. It is also the Foundation’s vision to further the historical legacy of the Veterans of Clear lake/North Iowa, memorializing their past and on-going service to our Country and for their stewardship of the course over the last several decades.
Coming from the North on Interstate 35 take exit #194 and head West on Highway 18 for 5 Miles, you will see the course on your left take a left on Shorewood Way when you reach the stop sign take a left on Fairway Drive, follow around to the next stop sign and take a left on North Shore Drive, Clubhouse will be on your left.

The course at Veterans Memorial Golf Club is a 9 hole par 36 course with bluegrass fairways and greens. Tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and several elevation changes provide golfers of all abilities a wonderful golfing experience. The course plays 3049 yards from the blue tees, with a 35 rating and slope of 112.
